Thers' a new coyote-wolf hybrid appearing in Maine's forests. These hybrids popping up in Maine are a cross between the eastern wolves of the Great Lakes region and western coyotes. Seen as dangerous pests, Wolves have fallen victim to mass hunting since colonial days. Defenders of wildlife think that northwestern and central Maine would be an ideal location for a breeding colony of these animals. Coywolves are not known to be dangerous to humans, but coution is advised!
